There is a small window in time where you can get family photos in a cotton field in South Carolina. In October and sometimes into early November you can find fluffy, white cotton fields that make a great backdrop for photos. This varies year to year depending on rainfall and when the farmers decide to harvest their fields. Most of the cotton fields are in the middle of the state with the closest ones about an hour inland from Charleston. I do my cotton field sessions close to our family farm, near Elloree, SC. Cotton field sessions are done at sunrise and an hour before sunset.
